"This exciting COSTUME- DANCE -DRAMA based project will use the exquisite 17th Century costumes of KATHAKALI – [the classical dance drama from Kerala, south India] to interpret the influence that India had on textiles, clothes and lifestyle of the people of England."

Set in a bird sanctuary in India, the bird keeper is Satchin Rai, son of a wealthy businessman. Satchin has turned his back on family obligations to work as an ornithologist. When he meets Peter, he becomes strangely drawn to the confident and charming Englishman and a relationship develops. Against the backdrop of an India plunged into violent rest, Satchin is torn between his country, his family and his secret love.
Find out how an Indian-born London-based dentist, a wife and mother, came to write a book inspired by the struggle for gay rights in India.
