The Children's Rights Alliance for England has published Use of force on children in custody: submission to Lord Carlile of Berriew QC's 2011 public hearing, which sets out the inequalities in protection for children in different types of custodial establishments; criticises 'the absence of children's accounts of their care and treatment' in Ofsted inspection reports; and makes seven immediate priorities for legislative and policy change.
