Equality Act 2010 | 22 July 2010

According to Race on The Agenda:

"The timetable for bringing the Equality Act into force is subject to a Reducing Regulation Committee that is chaired by the Business Secretary Vince Cable. The first tranche of clauses in the act will not be subject to this review and will be commenced and brought into force in October. The second tranche of clauses, including the Public Sector Equality Duty, will go through this review for which details on when it will be over are not clear.

The specific duty regulations that will form the detail of the Public Sector Equality Duty will be consulted on at some point before April 2011. We are yet to find out the exact dates of the consultation but it is expected over the summer. We will inform you when the next consultation will be as soon as the details com from the Government Equalities Office."
