Responses to enquiry about free posters promoting reading | 11 March 2009

We recently received an enquiry about sources of free posters to promote reading – this is a summary of the replies we received.

Charged-for

Lots of you suggested Star Reads - "posters of influential UK urban entertainers, highlighting the importance of reading"

American Library Association - some international celebrities (eg America Ferrera, Denzel Washington, Orlando Bloom), many US-related.

Free material

Cathryn Bull said: I have received a number of posters from publishers - usually you just need to send an email (or try phoning/writing using contact details from web or Writer's Handbook) eg: Little Tiger Press; Puffin; Shoo Fly Publishing.

She added: "For general inspirational posters Activity Village and Print-a-Poster are great!"

Also:

If you search on The Reading Agency website for "posters", it comes up with a list of publishers offering free material.

Finally, there are the posters of cricketers and footballers, which can be downloaded from the National Literacy Trust website.

If you know of any other sources, do, please, let us know!

Enquiry for: Housebound services publicity | 7 July 2008

Please see the following request from Chris Duke. If you can help, please contact Chris direct.
I am looking at revamping existing publicity for our service to housebound people. I am keen to see examples of posters and flyers used by other authorities so would be grateful if anyone could send me electronic versions of the publicity they use.
Thanks,
Chris Duke
