"Beyond tolerance: making sexual orientation a public matter" | 13 October 2009
Yesterday, I went to the launch of the new EHRC paper, Beyond tolerance. This is based on a number of pieces of research, and "shows that in 21st century Britain, despite legal advances, homophobia still has an unacceptable everyday impact on the lives of LGB people."
The report calls for action, especially a concerted effort to gather more data on LGB people in the UK to reinforce the arguments.
Very important piece of research - well worth reading!

Consortium of LGBT Voluntary & Community Organisations | 25 July 2008
"The Consortium of Lesbian, Gay Bisexual and Transgender Voluntary and Community Organisations (The Consortium) operates as a national body.
Different to other national LGBT charities such as Stonewall, the focus of the Consortium is around the development and support of LGBT groups, organisations and projects, rather than actually delivering direct services or campaigning for individual LGBT rights. It champions the value and importance of LGBT specific organisations and groups, as well as the need for their existence."
